Bollywood Dance with Nileeka
The BollyCo Tuesday evening class is our flagship offering. This Bollywood class has been running for the past 10 years at Pineapple Dance Studios, Covent Garden. Taught by the Company’s Creative Director & Founder, Nileeka Bose, you’re in safe hands.
Nileeka is a Film and Television Choreographer, Radio Presenter and Events Producer. Nileeka is the creative brains behind BollyCo and has a passion for all things South Asian; be it dance, art, culture, food or fashion; however her passion for all things Desi is most clear when she is teaching! Teaching combines her love for dance with her love for music & film.
Class Format
This is a 60-minute Bollywood Dance Class which is suitable for beginner to intermediate level. The full month’s class playlist is released in advance via our Instagram @thebollywoodco (on Reels). We recommend you checking the songs before booking your spot so you’re aware of what you’re learning. We also recommend booking 7 days in advance to ensure you secure a spot, as it is often sold out on the day.
This class is choreography-based and is not designed as a fitness or workout class. Of course, you’ll likely work up a sweat, but the focus is on musicality, song meaning and performing to your best ability. We take inspiration from original Bollywood movies and their well-known hook steps. We break down the moves in a way that is fun and easy-to-learn, so you’ll leave each session with a brand new choreo. Within one session, you’ll learn an introduction, verse and chorus.
It’s the perfect weekly mood-boost, and also a class that will get you in the mood for dancing at the next Indian wedding party.
Nileeka’s Film & TV Credits
The Eternal (Marvel Studios), The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (21st Century Fox), Polite Society (Focus Features), Dancing On Ice (ITV), Flirty Dancing (Channel 4), The Oti Mabuse Breakfast Show (ITV) and The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Concert (ITV). She has also Creatively Directed dance segments for BBC Asian Network Live, The Brit Asia Music Awards, The Punjabi Film Awards and The BBC Proms. She has also Produced her own show, titled ‘BollyCo Live’ at Wembley Troubadour.
